Coach Kya Johnson is entering her third year as a member of the Missouri State University Women’s Volleyball Team. A Springfield native, she attended Kickapoo High School where she was a standout multi-sport athlete in both volleyball and basketball. During her high school career, Kya helped lead her teams to multiple MSHSAA state tournament appearances, competing in two MSHSAA Class 5 State Tournaments for volleyball and three MSHSAA Class 5 State Tournaments for basketball.

During her senior year, Kya earned national recognition when she was selected as an AVCA Third Team All-American for her outstanding performance on the volleyball court.

Kya currently coaches with our CSDP club program. She has previously gained experience working volleyball camps throughout the Springfield area, where she has helped develop young athletes and share her knowledge of the game.
